Executive summary
Digitalisation has moved to a point where it is no longer a discussion about what it is and how to get started. Today, many companies have moved far down the digital transformation roadmap, and have much more diverse and nuanced challenges. At the 7th Supply Chain Leaders Forum 2018 we focused on these challenges with the theme Smart Chain Management.

Technology is nice and exciting but leveraging digital opportunities is much more than technology, i.e. also very much about business model transformation involving value models, channels, processes, people, leadership and change management. Professor Xavier Brusset from SKEMA Business School, Wolfgang Weber from Henkel, Susanne Hundsbæk-Pedersen from Novo Nordisk and Martijn Lofvers illustrated this nicely.

This year’s conference recognised leadership and academic excellence in the supply chain by awarding the best supply chain leader, and some of the best supply chain students in Denmark. The SYNCRONIC-award for ‘Best Supply Chain Executive in Denmark 2018’ went to Jean Marc Lechene, COO in VESTAS.

This year’s conference was organised by CBS (GD-SCM) and AAASCM (involving SYNCRONIC) in close collaboration with DTU and IDA Operations Management, and as usual hosted at CBS. Over 200 participants across business and academia enjoyed the presentations and awards, while visiting the 20 booths exhibiting best CBS and DTU projects, organizers services, and various key sponsors theme-related services and product.
