With optimization as backdrop this conference addresses one of today’s major trends; human pursuits of improving, perfecting and making efficient.
We shall invite papers that explore optimization technologies, their moral and ethical implications and the way these technologies profoundly affect societies, organisations, political and economic life and what it means to be human.
The conference takes it point of departure in the FKK founded research project Optimization: The Self as Laboratory which explores technologies for self-optimization in contemporary Danish society and forms part of the also FKK founded Research Network of Anthropology of Technology.
