Workshop #1 Flexibility as the Cornerstone of the Future Energy System

Time: Thursday, June 20. - 09:30am to 4:30 pm

Venue: Mogens Dahl Concert Hall, Snorresgade 22, 2300 Copenhagen S, Denmark

Program under development.

The demand for flexibility in the power systems will be increasing in the forthcoming years with the RE-expansion from intermittent resources like wind and solar as the main driving force. On this basis, we would like to invite everybody interested in the demand response agenda to a workshop on the work taken place in the Mission Innovation (MI) working group on smart grid and flexibility.

The workshop aims at presenting the current state of work in the smart grid - demand response track of work carried out by the MI-partners. Furthermore, the country reports and a survey is in progress and will be ready for the workshop in June.

For this workshop, we will address four main themes:

  1. RE and consumer engagement as a driver of demand response.
  2. Grid constraints driving the market development for demand response.
  3. Price signals through tarriffs driving flexible behavior - are they reinforcing or undermining market development for demand response?
  4. The link between enabling local energy communities and micro grid development alongside with the further development and financing of "nationwide" grid development and ability to exchange flexibility outside the local community.

Participation is free of charge, but there is a no-show-fee of DKK 500.
