2nd International Conference: Visuality, Materiality, Multimodality

- Novel approaches to the study of meaning, organizations and institutions

 

Growing experimentation with novel methods for analysing visual and material data, and even auditory or olfactory data is driving a turn to multimodality in organization and management studies. Promising new initiatives call for an enhanced cross-disciplinary dialogue and collaboration between professionals and academics.

 

Unfolding in the inspiring setting of Copenhagen Business School’s Kilen building and in explorations of Nørrebro’s urban open space Superkilen, this conference offers a unique opportunity to learn about and reflect on recent advances in the field of multimodality, discuss challenges and envision promising future directions. It involves presentations of novel scholarly work and keynotes by leading practitioner and academic experts, as well as discussions and informal conversations on how multimodality can advance both our knowledge and practice of meaning-making across organizations and institutions. In that, it also seeks to strengthen the connections between the academic community and the architecture, design, advertising, communication and other practitioners whose daily work involves multimodality.
